Foxtrot is committed to meeting the increasing energy requirements of Côte d’Ivoire. The duty of the 3G (Fitting French acronym for « Geophysics», « Geology » and « Field ») Department is double:
- To maximize the proven reserves or to ensure that each cubic meter produced from the existing fields is extracted in the most efficient manner
- To explore, or to find new sources of hydrocarbons
We expect that each cubic meter of produced oil or gas should – at a minimum – be replaced by new reserves. This Reserves Replacement Ratio (RRR) may be maintained at a higher level by or through:
- Production or injection wells increasing the recoverable reserves of a producing oilfield, or wells in areas known to be producing below their potential but insufficiently drained by the current wells, or a configuration of wells draining larger volumes from the field (horizontal wells);
- Improving the productivity of existing wells: acidification stimulation or hydraulic fracturing;
- Technical studies (data rooms, reports of qualified persons) to support Merger and Acquisition decisions made by FOXTROT
- The discovery of new deposits through sustained exploration activities.
The team is currently focused on the evaluation of massive data from the Marlin field which began production in October 2015.
